Making Easter Eggs from Paper

Easter time means plenty of  Easter Eggs! One of the most popular activities to do during this time is egg painting , but OMO has another idea for you. Instead of breaking a few odd eggs, especially with your kids’ dainty fingers, you can make paper Easter Eggs! These can be given away as personalised gifts to those that your little ones love, such as an aunt, cousin, grandparent or school teacher.

This Easter craft will require an afternoon of your time, along with some odds and ends to make colourful Easter Eggs! The bonus is that, your kids can be as creative as they want to without worrying about the mess, because OMO laundry detergents will take care of that for you.

Things to get:

  • Paper – choose from any colour that you like, or recycle used paper or newspaper.
  • Watercolour paint.
  • Some coloured pens.
  • Different coloured glitter.
  • Glue stick.
  • Split pins.
  • Hole punch.
  • Scissors.
  • Ruler.
  • String (optional).

Steps on How to Make Easter Eggs Out of Paper:

  1. Give your child paper on which to draw various objects and, then cut them out. They can make chicks, bunnies, baskets or simple shapes, like dots and triangles.
  2. Give your child a sheet of paper to decorate using the pens, glitter, glue and cut-outs.
  3. Once the glue has dried on the paper, help you little ones to cut them into strips. You can also help yours children out, by using a paper slicer.
  4. Punch a hole at the top and bottom of each strip.
  5. Pile the trips up on top of each other so that the holes line up. Place a split pin through the holes and secure them at the end.
  6. Fan out the strips to make an egg shape, and voila! You can make as many as you like, in different sizes!
  7. Use a piece of string to secure the split pins so you can hang the egg from a stick, or as a banner across the room.

This fun Easter activity is the perfect craft for a session of creative stimulation for your children and you can use their finished eggs as décor or gifts. You can make as many of these eggs as you like to get into the Easter spirit. Allow the kids to get creative and add their own personal touch to the eggs with paint and glitter.

At the end of the day, throw the kids’ messy clothes into the washer and add Omo Fast Action washing powder to remove all the grubby stains.
