The perfect breakfast delight requires the right spread to add a much needed flurry of flavour, and what better to tuck into before you start your day than a bright batch of homemade scrumptious scones, fresh out the oven. Steaming, fluffy and extremely filling, you can’t go wrong there, and when they’re lathered in strawberry jam, salted butter and rich honey you’re in for a real treat.
But what happens when, in your excitement, some jam or a wallop of butter drip and drop off of your tasty morsel and onto our pearl white pants or ocean blue work shirt that you just washed and ironed? Have a look below for top tips and tricks on how you can eliminate these breakfast stains quick and easily, without leaving a trace of the once colourful spot behind.
Lucky for you, jam stains actually aren’t that difficult to get rid of. Immediately remove the piece of clothing and rinse the stain under warm water. The warm water will dissolve the sugar clinging to the fabric with its high temperature. Dip the stained area in some water with a cup of OMO Handwash Laundry Liquid, give it a quick scrub and it will be right as rain.
Wave goodbye to butter stains. Rub a small amount OMO Handwash Laundry Liquid into the stain, and proceed to rinse the area well with warm water so that you remove any and all remaining oil from the fabric’s strands. Pat it down with a clean and dry dish cloth and you are good to go.
Honey may taste sweet and delicious, but having it stain your clothes is quite the opposite. To stop it from staining, gently remove any excess honey from your clothes with a butter knife. Mix warm water and a teaspoon of OMO Auto Liquid in a container. Soak a clean sponge in this mixture and blot the area until it has fully disappeared.
And there you have it. Now you can enjoy delicious breakfast scones and your favourite spread together without having to worry about spills and stains.
